Drought Status Update

Here is the amount of rain, over and above the normal amounts, needed to break the drought.

If this seven-day rainfall forecast is correct, the dry conditions in Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and, maybe, far east Texas will be significantly lessened.

The modestly wet pattern may continue eight to 15 days into the future and maybe -- just maybe -- we'll see some relief for the Plains states from Texas, north.
