Today's Tornado Threat

When looking at a tornado outlook, 5% is the significant threshold for keeping an eye on the weather. The hatched area is where strong tornadoes may occur. Fifteen percent, while not as high as yesterday, is still high enough that you should make preliminary preparations to shelter.

Preliminary sheltering plans:
  • Substantial footware. If your area is hit, you don't want to be walking over nails and glass.
  • A flashlight with extra batteries.
  • Some bottles of water.
  • Cash, in case you cannot get to an ATM.
  • Family heirlooms.
There is also a threat of tornadoes tomorrow and Wednesday. More on that on the blog later today.
